Finbarr Massi is the project of Atlanta-based mixed media producer Barry Welch.

This project crafts immersive electronic music and visuals designed to challenge traditional genre boundaries. While the sonic foundation of the work is built on the rhythmic drive and structural precision of Progressive House, the sound is evolving to incorporate a wide array of sometimes disparate influences. By fusing these diverse sonic elements, the project creates a listening experience that is at once wholly individual and deeply atmospheric.

Following the debut album, Gener8, which focused on the foundational structures of electronic music, the work has continued to shift into deeper, more cinematic territory. This evolution represents a departure from static categorizations, moving instead toward a sound defined by motion and melodic sensibility. This approach allows for the integration of ethereal textures and complex arrangements that might traditionally exist in separate musical worlds, but here, they are woven together to form a cohesive narrative.

Each month leading up to the July album release will showcase an individual single release, highlighting the progression of this sonic exploration. These releases, including the 7 April drop of 'Anonymity' and 'Silent Subscriber,' serve as milestones in a journey toward a more expansive and textured soundscape. By prioritizing the atmosphere and the emotional resonance of each track, the project ensures that every release stands as a unique entry in an ever-growing discography.
